Mat Newman  December 12 2012 13:23:45
Today IBM released the latest upgrade pack for IBM Lotus Notes Traveler - Upgrade Pack 2 (UP2). Andy Donaldson was kind enough to tweet about it's availability and part number on IBM Software:

For those that don't feel like fishing, IBM Lotus Notes Traveler V8.5.3 Upgrade Pack 2 for Windows and Linux Multilingual eAssembly(CRK3KML)

So here's some screen shots of the new native clients for Android Tablet - taken on my trusty Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet running Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich MR1)

IBM Lotus Notes Traveler 8.5.3 UP2 now includes a NATIVE app for synching IBM Lotus Notes To-Do's.

For those of you who are big fan's of David Allen's Getting Things Done methodology, life just got a LOT easier!

That looks very cool

That ToDo-app looks great. I can now shut down my home grown Android apps for GTD.

Mat,

What is the secret code/map to finding this Upgrade Pack on the IBM site? I've tried everything.

If I based my software purchasing decisions on IBM's Fix Central and Passport Advantage sites, I'd never buy a single product from them ever!

Thanks

Forget it, found the Upgrade Pack with "Fixes" on Passport Advantage, you know cause it wouldn't make any sense to put it in Fix Central!

I still cant get it to run.

I have done the upgrade and still getting error message when I use the app: "The Traveler server must be upgraded to support To Do's."

My Traveler version is 8.5.3.200.

What am I missing???

@1, Jens: Mate, on behalf of my customers to whom I have recommended your solution before IBM released this app; THANK YOU! Your app filled a void and we all appreciate your efforts. KUDOS

@2, Jim: An 'exceptional' experience?

@4, Kon: I have a customer with the same issue - will keep you posted when we've found a solution!

@Kon

I ran into the same issue. The address I had in my To Do's App (iOS) was;

<dns address>./servlet/traveler

however, it appears the hard coded address in the app it uses to connect back to the traveler server is now, /traveler (servlet has been removed)

I was able to connect back with,

<dns address>/traveler

Hope this helps and works for you.

@Manish

Thanks, that fixed it for me, although on my S3 I had to uninstall first, as the client won't let you change the address otherwise

I still miss a To-Do list widget. There are already widgets for calendar and mail, but not for To-Do lists, why? A widget would complete the to-do usability.

@9, Angel: Check out the native To-Do apps on both Android (Available as part of your Traveler update from your server) and iOS {link}, the Android app install does contain a widget that can be included on the home screens.
