The number is in ... 4500+ customers REINSTATE Notes/Domino in 2013

IBM don't publish many figures when it comes to Notes/Domino, licences, seats, etc ... but here is a number I can publish:

4500+ IBM Notes/Domino customers REINSTATED their licences in 2013!

What is a reinstatement? It results from a customer letting their Notes/Domino renewal lapse - which in my experience has meant that they are actively looking at options other than Notes/Domino for their messaging, collaboration and application requirements - who subsequently decide that they WANT the capabilities offered by the latest releases of Notes/Domino and choose the REINSTATE their licences to take advantage of those features.

In my 5 months at IBM (has it been that long?) I've been pleased to deal with so many customers who have seen the value proposition that IBM Notes and Domino - in conjunction with their myriad of entitlements - bring to their organisation, and they are often blown away at the capabilities that this powerful application suite offers them.

We've even had some OUTSTANDING competitive wins in the last few months (look out for the references soon) from customers who have CHOSEN to deploy Notes/Domino for the first time, particularly satisfying when our competition often declare "Notes is Dead", or even more laughable ... "legacy".

2013 has been a great year. I'm looking forward to 2014 being an even better one.

That is great news!

Is there a geographic breakdown that you can share? I am most interested in the UKI IOT

Keep up the good work.

In fairness to your competition mate, IBM has even stupidly referred to Notes as legacy in the last couple of years.

Congrats on the results though, especially when the company that owns the product doesn't always clear the path.

Great info.

Its good news, that companies returning to IBM collaborative technologies.

Some of the companies develop new platforms for automatization business-processes on Domino technologies.

I`m work in company, that develop ECM on IBM Notes Domino.

But now we create great constructor of business-applications. It works on XWork Server and work with Lotus Domino applications.

Customers can construct his own new business-system for automatization business-processes, and also can create WEB-interfaces for already used Lotus applications.

Importent (and for me its one of the coolest thing), that customers dont need professional programming skills for using constructor, all can done with plug-and-play ideology (you can look on it in video on the site).

More info on site xpagesdynamic.com . What you think about it?

Are these "individual licenses" or "customer count" (customer count meaning the actual "license count" could be much higher)????

@1, Marc: I don't have a geo breakdown, only the overall figure.

@2, Carl: Yes, I know. Re-education continues for my team ...

@3, Roman: Great work mate, fantastic to see organisations utilising our latest technology to drive new business!

@4, Robert: 4500+ individual *CUSTOMERS* Reinstated, eg: I know *1* of those organisations reinstated *22000* Notes CALS because my team were involved. So yes, the individual license count is considerably higher.

Could you share a number of customers who didn't had their licences expired in 2013?

Excellent!

I heard another company wanting to throw out sharepoint because they are so impressed with the IBM products.

Hopefully the tide is turning.

I personally got 3 companies to take Domino for applications. Now one of them is looking to add messaging because Domino is so..... STABLE!!!
