This one came in as a request from a user who saw #UserBlast at Lotusphere and wanted some more detail on the steps involved.

Live Text with Actions in Lotus Notes are really easy to configure - here are two examples that will allow you to create an Email Message or Meeting invitation from ANY email address in ANY Lotus Notes document. Here's how to do it...

Unfortunately it's like the old beta vs. VHS argument. This is all a moot point as it's far too late.

In Outlook email addresses are "hot" by default and create new mail messages.

@Thomas... Seriously?! Still with the "Notes is Dead" message? You're living in the past man.

It's never too late for exciting innovation buddy, and you'd be surprised to learn how many people rely on Lotus Notes to perform their everyday business operations (& love it!).

@1, Alison; No worries, glad you like them, please make sure your users see them too :-)

@2, Thomas: There is a resurgence coming, I am aware of one big Aussie customer who tried Outlook and is coming back, and another who has been quoted: 'We're falling in Love with Lotus Notes all over again'

@3, Bruce: It may be the default, but the only thing it does is create an Email, I can make it do SO much MORE, therefore....!

@4, Terry: LOL, I Like that, "Oh, you've heard that OLD chestnut about Notes being Dead, That's SOOOOO Yesterday!" ;-)

There is no resurgence where I live, in fact it's the complete opposite. Most companies in my area are migrating to Exchange and/or Sharepoint. I wish it were not the case as I've been with Lotus stuff for over 16 years now. Happy to hear your experience differs from mine.
